As part of its efforts to facilitate easy access to trade information, the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations (FEAFFA)sought partnership with TradeMark East Africa to develop an online information portal that will provide freight forwarders and other stakeholders real time information on the documents, procedures, taxes and duties payable and the rules and regulations governing the importation and exportation of certain major products into and out of the East African countries. This is in fulfillment of FEAFFAs strategic objective of providing a one stop solution to members and partners freight logistics information related needs.

Current value chains in the system include;

Uganda - Exports include Tea, Coffee, Cotton, fish while imports looked at Pyrethrum and drugs

Tanzania - Exports Tea, Coffee, Cotton, cashew nuts, milk, food, gold, sisal, pyrethrum imports include drugs, cosmetics, petroleum, fertilizers, pesticides.

Rwanda - Exports Tea and coffee while imports include Petroleum products, pharmaceuticals and pesticides

Burundi - Exports include coffee and tea while imports include petroleum products, pharmaceuticals, pesticides.

Kenya - Tea, Coffee, Fish, Pharmaceutical products, fresh produce, flowers, fruits, vegetables for exports and grain (maize, rice and wheat), iron and steel, machinery, motor vehicles, petroleum, plastics, pharmaceuticals.
